At MSC Cruises, exceptional guest service is our top priority. During an MSC Cruises vacation our guests meet staff throughout the ship who provide them with excellent service, supported by just as many crew members who work just as hard behind the scenes.

 

It does not apply to children under 2 years old at the time of your cruise departure date and the rates are per person per day.

 

Please find below the new Hotel Service Charge rates valid:

 

- From July 2nd, 2024 onwards, for cruises sailing to China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Caribbean and North America and for guests 2 years old and above; guests with existing bookings confirmed before July 2nd, 2024, will not be impacted by this change.

- From July 2nd, 2024 onwards, for cruises sailing to South America, South Africa and Grand Voyages ; guests with existing bookings confirmed before July 2nd , 2024, will not be impacted by this change.

Is the hotel service charge detailed in the booking confirmation?

Yes, Hotel Services Charges are included in booking confirmations once added to a booking. You will find these details in the item charge
section under each guest’s name.
 

What happens to the hotel service charge when guests change their booking?

The Hotel Service Charge is based on individual itineraries. If a guest elects to change their current ship and sail date, the Hotel Service Charge amount will be adjusted to reflect the new applicable amount. This new amount will be detailed on the guest’s updated booking confirmation, in the item charge section for each guest.

Can the hotel service charge be reduced or cancelled in case of complaints on board?

In the unlikely event that a guest receives unsatisfactory service while sailing, they may visit the Reception – Guest Services on board. If the guest’s points of concern are not resolved, at the guest’s discretion, the daily amount of the Hotel Service Charge may be modified.

Are MSC Voyagers club members exempt from the hotel service charge?

No, Hotel Service Charges are applicable to all guests 2 years of age and older.

Some guests have always tipped individual employees. Would that also be allowed?

The recommended daily amount of the Hotel Service Charges help show the guest’s appreciation for a wide range of crew members who contribute to their enjoyment and well-being on board. If a guest has received exceptional service and would like to offer additional gratuities, they may do so at their own discretion.

How is the hotel service charge shared with the staff?

The Hotel Service Charges are distributed among crew members who contribute to the enjoyment and experience while on board. These crew members include stateroom attendants, bar, dining, and culinary staff, as well as many valued hotel operations crew that work hard behind the scenes.
