General FAQs

Are beverage packages available on all sailings, fleetwide?

Beverage packages are available to purchase on all sailings excluding ships sailing in South Africa and China.


In compliance with Saudi Arabian law, while a ship is docked at Saudi Arabian ports during a sailing alcohol will not be served on board. Alcohol will be available when the ship returns to international waters.

Can I purchase a beverage package before my cruise?

Yes. Beverage packages can be purchased before your cruise at a discount up to 20% compared to onboard prices.

I booked with a promotion that included a beverage package. Can I upgrade my beverage package before my cruise or on board?

Yes. You can upgrade to the Premium Extra Package before or during your cruise. If you are booked on a non-US departure, you may have different upgrade options available on board only. Availability will vary by itinerary.

What is happening to the Easy and Easy Plus Packages?

These packages will no longer be sold as of December 18, 2024. For guests who purchased these packages prior to December 18, 2024, their purchase will be honored.

What happens if I booked the Easy or Easy Plus package prior to 12/18/24?

If you booked the Easy or Easy Plus Package prior to December 18, 2024 you will not be affected by the change. On board, you will receive the package you prepaid.

Are gratuities included in the beverage package cost?

Yes. All MSC Cruises prepaid and onboard beverage packages include gratuities.

Which packages can be used in Specialty Restaurants?

Only the Premium Extra and Easy Plus packages are accepted at Specialty Restaurants. The Minors Package will also be accepted when the minor is accompanied by an adult who has purchased the Premium Extra or Easy Plus Package.

If an adult purchases a beverage package, are underage guests required to do the same thing as well?

Yes. The Minors Package must be purchased for all underage guests traveling with adults who purchase a beverage package.

I booked a Grand Voyage or an MSC World Cruise. Is there any beverage package included?

MSC Grand Voyages

Beverage packages are not included by default. As of December 18, 2024 you can prepurchase the Premium Extra Package, Alcohol-Free Package, or Minors Package.

MSC World Cruise

The Dine & Drinks Package is included. This package covers house wines, draught beer, soft drinks, and mineral water, available during lunch and dinner in the main restaurants and buffet. Guests will have the option on board to upgrade their package.

What beverage package is included in MSC Yacht Club?

The Premium Extra Package is included for all cruises booked in MSC Yacht Club.

Please note: In line with our responsible drinking policies, a daily limit of 15 alcoholic beverages per guest applies both within and outside the exclusive MSC Yacht Club area.

Can beverage packages be used on MSC’s private island?

Yes. Beverage packages can be used at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. However, please note that the island’s beverage options may not include the full onboard beverage selection.

Do the beverages included in the beverages packages vary depending on the ships, destinations, or seasons?

Brands offered will vary depending on destination and season.

Premium Extra Package FAQs

What are the differences between the new vs old Premium Extra Package?

As of December 18, 2024 the new Premium Extra Package includes a maximum daily limit of 15 alcoholic beverages. Any alcoholic beverages beyond the 15 alcoholic beverage limit will need to be purchased at full price.

What sailings will be impacted by the new changes?

The new pricing and daily 15 alcoholic beverage limit will impact all sailings as of April 1, 2025.

What happens when I reach my 15 alcoholic beverage per day maximum?

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all our guests, we have updated our Premium Extra Package to include a maximum of 15 alcoholic beverages per day, per guest. This change is designed to promote responsible enjoyment and to enhance the quality of service.

Once you have consumed 15 alcoholic beverages within a 24-hour period, measured from 06:00 AM-06:00 AM, you will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages at the full menu price.

Is the 15 beverage daily limit for all beverages or just alcohol?

The new beverage package includes a maximum of 15 alcoholic beverages. Non-alcoholic beverages included in your package are not limited.

Will beverages in MSC Yacht Club also be limited to 15 alcoholic beverages daily?

Yes. In line with our responsible drinking policies the daily limit of 15 alcoholic beverages per guest applies to drinks purchased inside MSC Yacht Club.

Is there a limit to how many alcoholic beverages I can purchase at full price after I pass the 15 alcoholic beverages daily limit?

No. Once you exceed the 15 alcoholic beverages daily limit you can continue to order beverages at the full menu price plus gratuities with no restrictions.

Is there a time limit between alcoholic beverage purchases? When does the daily limit reset itself?

No. There is no waiting time between alcoholic beverage purchases. A day is measured from 6 AM to 6 AM, so the limit will reset at 6 AM.

If I order a “double” will that count as one or two alcoholic beverages towards my daily limit?

A “double” alcoholic beverages will count as two beverages towards your daily limit.

Does purchasing a bottle of wine count towards my daily limit?

No. A bottle of wine does not count against your daily limit because it is not included in your beverage package. Only alcoholic beverages included in your package count towards your daily limit.

Are alcoholic beverages ordered from room service menu counted towards my daily limit?

No. Alcoholic beverages ordered from room service do not count against your daily limit because they are not included in your beverage package. Only alcoholic beverages included in your package count towards your daily limit.

Are mini bar alcoholic beverages counted towards my daily limit?

No. Mini bar alcoholic beverages do not count against your daily limit because they are not included in your beverage package. Only alcoholic beverages included in your package count towards your daily limit.

Is the complimentary prosecco given to MSC Voyagers Club members be counted towards my daily limit?

No. The complimentary prosecco will not count against your daily limit because it is not included in your beverage package. Only alcoholic beverages included in your package count towards your daily limit.

If I choose an alcoholic beverage not included in the package, do I pay a full price? Is that alcoholic beverage counted towards my daily limit?

No. Guests who purchase the Premium Extra Package, and who want to enjoy cocktails, spirits and/or wines by the glass that are not included in their package, will pay only the price difference between the package allowance and the à la carte price of ordered beverages. If you purchase an alcoholic beverage valued higher than your package allowance and you only paid the difference in price, that beverage will count towards your daily limit since you used the value of your package allowance and did not pay full menu price for the beverage.

How will I know how many alcoholic beverages I have left in a day?

When you purchase an alcoholic beverage you can ask your bartender to check how many beverages you have had that day.

Terms & Conditions

General Terms & Conditions

Beverage packages are not transferrable and may not be shared with other guests. Valid for one beverage only per order. Violation of these terms may result in cancellation of a guest's package without eligibility for a refund or credit of any kind.

Availability of Beverage packages and prices may vary per sailing. Packages are sold on a per cruise basis and not a per day or any other basis. Pricing applies to each day of the cruise, except for disembarkation day. Once activated on board, packages cannot be terminated or refunded. Packages must be booked by all guests occupying the same cabin, and who are traveling together and wishing to dine at the same table. This includes minors, for whom the Minors Package must be booked. Packages are not obligatory for infants under three years of age.

The following exclusions apply; tobacco, souvenir glasses, ice cream menu, retail items, minibar, room service, promotions, and signature venues, including Venchi 1878 establishments, Lavazza Coffee Shops, Jean Philippe Chocolate, Coffee, Crepes & Gelato, regardless of beverage price.
